Community Values

At Urban Law, we are committed to achieving the best results for our clients while upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethics.  We believe in delivering unwavering advocacy while demanding mutual respect.   Part of this mission involves a commitment to helping our communities. Our circle of support includes:

  • Bridgeport Animal Rescue Crew (BARC) is a nonprofit animal advocacy and rescue organization that helps save, rehabilitate and rehome dogs throughout Connecticut.

  • City Year is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance educational equity by supporting students furthest from opportunity and to develop diverse leaders through national service.  City Year places 18–24 year-olds in high-need schools for a year of service in 29 different cities throughout the United States.

  • Fairfield County Youth Sports - Urban Law firmly believes that the values learned in sports - such as hard work, handling adversity and teamwork - can positively shape children's lives.  We support youth sports both through donations and as a volunteer coach.

We are always open to new opportunities to better our community. If you are interested in partnering with us, please let us know!

Commitment to Service

Urban Law values its commitment to service, and we are proud of our pro bono work.  Our focus on community started when Urban Law's founder was still in high school.

In high school, Lex helped run the New London Grassroots Tennis program.  Grassroots tennis exposes urban youths to the game of tennis, providing free instruction, equipment and mentorship in a fun-filled environment.

After college, Lex devoted a year to full-time community service as a math and reading tutor in AmeriCorps’ City Year program in Washington, DC.

During law school, Lex participated in the D.C. Law Students in Court (now Rising for Justice) organization, interning at a free legal clinic handling a wide range of matters in D.C. Superior Court for low-income clients.

As an attorney, Lex continued his pro bono work, earning an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Washington Lawyers' Committe for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs.

At Urban Law we are grateful for the opportunities we have been given and we strive to help provide opportunities to others, wherever possible.
